A leading construction main contractor is seeking an experienced Site Manager to provide holiday cover on a project based in Hayes, London. This role requires a hands-on individual who can effectively manage site operations, ensuring safety, quality, and timely delivery of the project.

Job Duties- Manage all on-site construction activities, including groundworks and power upgrade tasks, ensuring compliance with project specifications and regulations.
- Oversee site health and safety, ensuring all personnel operate in accordance with relevant standards and site rules.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to maintain smooth site operations and minimise delays.
- Monitor progress against programme schedules and report regularly to senior management on site status and any issues.
- Ensure effective resource allocation, including labour, plant, and materials, to optimise productivity and cost control.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date site documentation, including daily reports, risk assessments, and method statements.
- Lead site meetings and toolbox talks to communicate priorities, safety messages, and project updates.
- Identify and resolve site problems proactively to prevent project disruption.
- Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) certification.
- Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card.
- Valid First Aid qualification.
- Full, clean driving licence.
- Proven experience managing construction sites, preferably in groundworks and power upgrade projects.
- Experience working within a principal contractor environment on medium to large scale projects.
- Comprehensive understanding of construction site management principles and health and safety legislation.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage diverse teams effectively.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with site documentation and reporting requirements.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Primarily site-based role with exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
- Requirement to wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times.
- Full-time hours with some flexibility to cover holiday periods as required.
- Comply with all site safety and environmental policies and procedures.
