Site Services Engineer in Cornwall

We are partnering with an established FMCG manufacturer seeking an experienced Site Services Engineer to join their engineering team. This hands-on role suits an electrically biased engineer with strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills. You'll deliver planned and reactive maintenance, support essential site services, minimise downtime and help maintain a safe, reliable and efficient manufacturing environment.

Salary - £47,461

Location - Cornwall

Working Hours - Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:30

Responsibilities

• Respond to equipment, facilities and site-services breakdowns, completing effective repairs to minimise downtime and maintain operational continuity.
• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across electrical systems, site services, utilities, facilities and associated manufacturing infrastructure.
• Maintain and support utilities including boilers, compressed air systems, cooling towers, electrical distribution and other essential site services.
• Maintain lighting, emergency lighting, fire safety systems and associated infrastructure, ensuring facilities remain safe, compliant and fully operational.
• Record, manage and update planned and reactive maintenance activities accurately using the site's computerised maintenance management system.
• Support continuous improvement projects focused on improving equipment reliability, operational efficiency, maintenance standards and overall site performance.

Requirements

• Level 3 Electrical Engineering qualification or equivalent, alongside relevant practical maintenance experience within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Experience within an FMCG or manufacturing environment
• Previous experience in a multi-skilled maintenance engineering role, ideally within FMCG, food manufacturing or another fast-paced production environment.
• Experience within a similar role (such as electrician, facilities engineer, facilities technician, utilities engineer, building services engineer, site engineer, or electrical engineer)
• Strong practical knowledge of industrial electrical systems, including fault-finding, maintenance and repair of single-phase and three-phase equipment.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing electrical faults across AC and DC systems, with a methodical approach to problem-solving.
• Working knowledge of permit-to-work procedures, contractor management and safe working practices within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• A hands-on, proactive approach with the ability to work independently, collaborate effectively and respond confidently to maintenance breakdowns.
