As a Stakeholder Engagement Officer at Hyde, you will coordinate our engagement with elected representatives, ensuring enquiries from MPs and local authority councillors are managed professionally, consistently and within agreed service standards. You will act as Hyde’s central point of accountability for elected representative enquiries, producing high-quality responses, identifying emerging themes and risks, and working with colleagues across the business to protect Hyde’s reputation and strengthen external relationships.

Key Duties
  • Act as the main point of contact for MP and councillor enquiries, coordinating timely, accurate and professional responses.
  • Quality assure correspondence to ensure consistency of tone, alignment with Hyde’s values and adherence to agreed service standards.
  • Build and maintain constructive relationships with elected representatives, local authority officers and internal service leads, acting as a trusted liaison between them and Hyde service areas.
  • Develop proactive engagement activities with elected representatives and their teams in co-ordination with the External Affairs Officer
  • Monitor enquiries, analyse themes and trends, and produce reports that highlight risks, recurring issues and service improvement opportunities.
  • Provide briefings for colleagues including managers, heads of service and directors where required in advance of high-profile or sensitive responses and meetings.
  • Identify politically sensitive or high-risk cases, escalating appropriately and supporting effective governance, risk and reputation management.

As a Stakeholder Engagement Officer, we’re seeking someone who can bring:

  • Proven experience managing stakeholder relationships, ideally within housing, local government or a regulated environment.
  • Experience of handling formal enquiries, complaints or casework and having to work through challenges to deliver solutions
  • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to draft high-quality, politically aware correspondence.
  • A proactive mindset and passion for building constructive relationships that support positive outcomes for customers and communities.
  • The ability to analyse data, identify trends and use insight to support service improvement and manage reputational risk.
  • An understanding of social housing legislation, regulatory frameworks, public accountability and effective governance.
