Structural Engineer

ALink Recruitment are working with a structural and civil engineering consultancy that specialise in design-led projects. Their varied portfolio includes basements, extensions, bespoke new-builds and historic or listed buildings.

The Role

Seeking a Structural Engineer with around 2 years experience. Working alongside senior engineers and technicians, you will support projects from concept through to construction. The role will be office based 5 days/week.

Responsibilities

• Designing structures in steel, concrete, masonry and timber.

• Preparing calculations, sketches and technical reports.

• Coordinating drawings with technicians and other consultants.

• Undertaking structural surveys and site visits.

• Attending design meetings and responding to construction queries.

• Delivering work in accordance with Eurocodes, British Standards and Building Regulations.

About you

You should have:

• A BEng or MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering.

• Around two years’ UK consultancy experience.

• Experience designing building structures in common materials.

• Familiarity with software such as TEDDS, Tekla Structural Designer or similar.

• AutoCAD skills; Revit experience would be beneficial.

• Clear communication and good organisational skills.

• An ambition to work towards IStructE or ICE chartership.
