Supplier Quality Engineer - London (Hybrid) - up to £57,000 + Bonus + Ex. Benefits - Permanent

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to play a key role in ensuring suppliers consistently deliver materials and products that meet demanding engineering and quality standards. Working within a global supply chain, you will drive supplier performance, reduce quality risks, resolve non-conformances, and support continuous improvement initiatives across a diverse supplier base.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the quality performance of a portfolio of global suppliers.
  • Conduct supplier qualification, assessment and audit activities.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate supplier quality risks.
  • Investigate non-conformances, perform root cause analysis and drive corrective actions.
  • Ensure suppliers maintain effective quality management systems and robust manufacturing processes.
  • Support supplier development and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality and Procurement teams to improve supplier performance and product quality.
  • Ensure conforming materials are delivered into manufacturing operations.

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Engineering, Manufacturing, Science or a related discipline.
  • Mid-level experience within Supplier Quality, Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Process Control or a similar technical environment.
  • Strong understanding of process control, process capability and quality assurance principles.
  • Experience conducting supplier audits and managing quality improvement activities.
  • Knowledge of quality methodologies such as APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Root Cause Analysis and Continuous Improvement.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Desirable Industry Experience

Experience within highly regulated or high-reliability industries such as:

  • Aerospace, Defence, Space or Nuclear
  • Optical, Electronic or Electrical Manufacturing
  • Advanced Engineering or Complex Manufacturing Environments

Travel

  • International travel approximately once per month - 2-5 days per month away from home.
  • Supplier audits across Europe, North America and Asia.
