A welcoming primary school in Hindley, Wigan is looking to appoint a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026.
The school has a strong community feel and is committed to providing a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment for pupils.
The successful candidate will work alongside class teachers to support pupils with their learning, helping children to engage with the curriculum and develop their confidence and independence.
The role may involve supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis, working with small groups and providing classroom support across the primary age range.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have previous experience working with children
- Be confident supporting pupils individually and in small groups
- Have a calm, patient and nurturing approach
- Build positive relationships with children
- Have strong communication skills
- Be committed to helping pupils achieve their potential
The school is easily accessible from Hindley, Wigan, Ince, Platt Bridge, Leigh and Atherton, with good road links via the A577 and A58. The location is also accessible by public transport, with Hindley railway station providing connections towards Wigan and Manchester.
