Location: Swansea and Carmarthenshire
Pay: £14.25 per hour
Hours: 8:30am to 3:30pm
Schedule: Monday to Friday, term time only. No weekends!

As a Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities may include:

• ‍ Supporting the class teacher with engaging lessons and classroom activities
• Providing one-to-one and small-group support
• Helping pupils develop their literacy and numeracy skills
• Supporting children with Additional Learning Needs, where required
• Encouraging communication, confidence and independence
• ⭐ Helping pupils overcome barriers to learning
• Building positive and professional relationships with pupils and staff
• Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
• Preparing classroom resources and maintaining an inclusive learning environment

To be considered, you will need:

• At least five GCSEs at grade C or above, including English and Mathematics
• Registration with the Education Workforce Council in the appropriate category
• An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to complete a new Enhanced DBS application
• A positive, proactive and resilient attitude
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to build rapport with children and young people
• A genuine commitment to safeguarding and supporting pupils
• Reliability, adaptability and a professional approach

Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable, but applications are also welcomed from individuals with relevant transferable skills from care, coaching, youth work, mentoring, childcare or community support.

Welsh-language skills are welcomed but are not essential for every placement.

Teaching Personnel works with schools across Wales, providing both short-term and long-term teaching and classroom-support opportunities. Its Swansea operation covers a broad area, including schools across South West Wales. [(url removed)]
