Position: SEN Teaching Assistant (Day-to-Day / Flexible Cover)

School Setting: Secondary (Ofsted Rated 'Outstanding')

Special Needs Supported: MLD, ASD, and Epilepsy Support

Working Hours: 8:45 AM – 3:45 PM (Monday to Friday, as needed)

Pay Rate: £93-£95 per day

About the Role & School

Are you a dedicated and adaptable SEN Teaching Assistant looking for flexible day-to-day opportunities in an 'Outstanding' Secondary School? Located in the L36 area, our vibrant secondary school is seeking reliable TAs to support students with Mild Learning Difficulties (MLD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and Epilepsy. This role offers fantastic flexibility for experienced SEN TAs or individuals seeking casual work in a highly supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

Provide flexible, day-to-day classroom and 1:1 support for secondary pupils with MLD, ASD, and Epilepsy.

Assist subject teachers in managing classroom behaviour and keeping students actively engaged.

Follow individual care plans and medical protocols for pupils with Epilepsy, maintaining a safe learning environment.

Promote independence, social communication, and emotional resilience among pupils.

Adapt quickly to different classroom routines and secondary subjects.

Requirements & Qualifications

Prior experience working with secondary-age pupils in an educational or care setting.

Demonstrated experience supporting young people with ASD and MLD.

Epilepsy awareness or training (desirable, though training can be provided).

An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).

Strong communication, adaptability, and classroom management skills.
