Technical Author in Aberdeen, Aberdeen City

PWHytek Ltd are recruiting for a Technical Author on a permanent contract within the Defence industry based in Aberdeen with the option of hybrid working.

🔧 The Role
You’ll be responsible for creating and updating technical documentation, including operating and maintenance manuals, books of reference and engineering publications. You’ll work closely with engineering, production and drafting teams to ensure documentation is accurate, clear and meets industry standards.

✅ What We’re Looking For

• A technical writing qualification or equivalent industry experience.

• A mechanical and/or electrical engineering background.

• Experience producing technical documentation, ideally within the defence, marine or diving sectors.

• Strong document design and production skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Adobe FrameMaker and Adobe Acrobat.

• Knowledge of documentation standards such as S1000D, ASD-STE100 and Defence Standard 00-601.

• Experience with document management systems.
