A global automotive component manufacturer with sites worldwide requires a Procurement Engineer to support successful launch of tooling and related equipment. The ideal candidate will have an engineering background in tooling with experience in procurement.

The Role
Reporting into the Procurement Manager you will have the following duties:
- Procurement: Source and procure tooling, fixtures, jigs, gauges, and associated equipment while managing suppliers, costs, budgets, contracts, and compliance.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Build and manage supplier relationships, monitor performance against key metrics, drive continuous improvement, and mitigate supply risks.
- New Product Introduction (NPI): Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, source, and deliver tooling in line with new product launch and industrialisation timelines.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements, develop sourcing strategies, and communicate project progress, risks, and opportunities.
- Continuous Improvement: Improve procurement processes, supplier performance, tooling lifecycle management, and digitalisation while contributing to procurement strategy and sharing market intelligence.
The Person
Educated to a minimum of HNC level in a relevant discipline you will have the following experience:
- Essential: Commercial experience managing complex tooling requirements, strong negotiation, commercial awareness, supplier relationship and performance management skills, cross-functional experience in manufacturing, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Desirable: Knowledge of manufacturing processes, product development cycles, NPI projects, strategic sourcing, category management, and Teamcenter Product Cost Management (TcPCM) for tooling and equipment costing.
