Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) Engineer

Are you an experienced highways or traffic engineering professional looking to play a key role in improving local transport networks? We're seeking a Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) Engineer to support the delivery of Traffic Regulation Orders for highway improvement and transport projects.

This role require 2 days per week in the office and 3 from home.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a programme of Traffic Regulation Orders from initiation through to implementation.
  • Prepare, review and process TRO documentation in line with statutory requirements.
  • Coordinate consultations with residents, statutory consultees and other stakeholders.
  • Assess objections and prepare technical reports and recommendations.
  • Work closely with project managers and design teams to ensure schemes meet programme deadlines.
  • Liaise with legal teams, contractors and local authority departments throughout the process.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and council procedures.
  • Support the delivery of highway improvement and traffic management projects where required.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience delivering or supporting Traffic Regulation Orders within a highways or local authority environment.
  • Knowledge of highways legislation and statutory TRO procedures.
  • Strong project coordination and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with colleagues, stakeholders and members of the public.
  • Relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Highways Engineering or a related discipline is desirable.
