Vehicle Technician in Plymouth, Devon

The Role:

Silcom Recruitment are pleased to be supporting an established main dealer automotive group in Plymouth, who are looking to appoint a skilled and experienced Vehicle Technician to join their workshop team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a technician with strong mechanical knowledge to join a professional workshop environment, carrying out vehicle servicing, diagnostics, and mechanical repairs.

Responsibilities & Requirements of a Vehicle Technician:

Carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and mechanical repairs to manufacturer standards.

Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical faults using appropriate diagnostic equipment.

Undertake repairs involving brakes, clutches, suspension, steering, and other vehicle components.

Complete vehicle inspections and health checks, ensuring all work is carried out to a high standard.

Identify additional work required and communicate findings clearly to the workshop team.

Work efficiently and accurately, maintaining excellent standards of workmanship and customer satisfaction.

Previous experience working within a main dealership or independent garage environment is essential.

Minimum NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair is required.

Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities would be advantageous.

A valid UK driving licence is essential.

The Package:

Basic Salary: Up to £35,000, depending on experience, plus a strong productivity and efficiency bonus.

Hours: 40-hour working week, Monday to Friday, with every other Saturday required (8am - 1pm)
