Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Warehouse Operative to join our fast-paced warehouse team in Milton Keynes. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, movement, and dispatch of goods while maintaining high standards of accuracy, safety, and service.
This role is ideal for someone with previous warehouse experience who enjoys working in a hands-on environment, takes pride in maintaining operational standards, and can work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the smooth day to day running of warehouse and logistics operations.
- Receive, inspect, unload, and store incoming deliveries accurately and safely.
- Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders in line with company procedures and deadlines.
- Operate warehouse equipment including Reach Truck and Counterbalance forklifts in a safe and efficient manner
- Ensure stock is handled correctly and inventory records are maintained accurately using warehouse management and ERP systems.
- Carry out stock checks and assist with inventory control activities.
- Load and unload vehicles while ensuring goods are secured and handled carefully.
- Maintain high levels of housekeeping across the warehouse, ensuring all work areas remain clean, organised, and safe.
- Follow all company Health & Safety procedures and report any hazards, accidents, or equipment defects promptly
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance warehouse efficiency and operational performance
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and team leaders to meet daily operational targets and business requirements
- Good understanding of ERP systems (ideally SAP)
- Good communication, organisational, planning and time management skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
- Attention to detail
- IT literate.
- Current, valid Reach truck licence and Counterbalance licence.
- Proven work experience as a warehouse operative (at least 1 year)
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems.
- Familiarity with modern warehousing practices & methods.
- Good understanding of warehouse operations and Health & Safety.
- GCSEs or equivalent.
- Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Self-motivated and proactive.
