Warehouse Supervisor

InstaStaff are currently recruiting for a Warehouse Supervisor to join a manufacturing company based in Aston.
You will be required to supervise the day-to-day warehouse and yard operations, ensuring that materials are received, stored, processed and dispatched safely, efficiently and accurately, in accordance with customer requirements and company procedures.
The duties of the Warehouse Supervisor will include:
- Supervise and coordinate warehouse operatives to ensure efficient daily operation.
- Ensure all incoming and outgoing materials are correctly identified, handled, stored and dispatched.
- Allocate work and monitor performance to meet daily operational and customer requirements.
- Ensure safe working practices are always maintained, including the safe use of forklifts, lifting equipment and other warehouse machinery.
- Ensure materials are handled correctly to minimise damage, waste and stock loss.
- Monitor stock accuracy and ensure movements are correctly recorded on the company stock control system.
- Coordinate loading and unloading of vehicles, ensuring loads are secure and correctly documented.
- Ensure customer orders are picked, checked and prepared accurately and on time.
- Maintain good housekeeping standards across the warehouse and yard.
- Identify and report damaged, incorrect or non-conforming materials.
- Support the training, development and supervision of warehouse personnel, including forklift and other relevant operational training.
- Conduct or support daily safety checks and report any hazards, incidents or equipment defects.
- Work closely with GM, Sales, Operations, Transport and Quality to resolve issues and maintain customer service levels.
- Promote continuous improvement, productivity and efficient use of stock and resources.
The ideal Warehouse Supervisor will have:
- Previous supervisory experience within a warehouse or yard
- Forklift truck license and experience using lifting equipment.
- Good understanding of warehouse and stock control procedures.
- Experience supervising and motivating a team.
- HGV/vehicle loading experience would be advantageous.
The hours for the Warehouse Supervisor are rotating shifts of one week Monday – Thursday 6am – 2.30pm, Friday finish at 12pm, and one week Monday – Friday 2pm – 10.30pm, Friday finish at 6pm
The salary for the Warehouse Supervisor will be circa £35,000 depending on experience
