Reporting into the Distribution Centre Manager and working closely with the Supply Chain Coordinator, you will help coordinate the day-to-day warehouse operation, ensuring goods are received, stored, handled and dispatched safely, accurately and efficiently.

You will provide hands-on leadership on the warehouse floor, allocating workloads, monitoring workflow and supporting the wider team to achieve daily productivity and customer service targets.

A key part of the role will be ensuring warehouse activities are completed in accordance with my client’s operating procedures, health and safety requirements and quality standards.

  • Overseeing the safe receipt, storage, movement and preparation of stock
  • Ensuring customer orders are picked, packed and loaded accurately and efficiently
  • Maintaining stock accuracy through routine checks and cycle counts
  • Ensuring appropriate stock rotation in line with FIFO principles
  • Investigating and resolving stock discrepancies and operational issues
  • Ensuring warehouse equipment and machinery are operated safely and any defects are reported promptly
  • Ensuring colleagues follow safe working practices, company procedures and reporting requirements
  • Supporting compliance with warehouse operating standards and quality requirements
  • Assisting with the induction and on-the-job training of new employees
  • Encouraging teamwork, accountability and consistently high standards of performance
  • Sharing best practice and identifying opportunities to improve working methods
  • Supporting colleagues in resolving operational challenges throughout the shift
  • Identifying opportunities to improve warehouse efficiency and productivity
  • Contributing ideas that improve customer service and overall operational effectiveness

About You

My client is looking for someone who is comfortable taking ownership on the warehouse floor and can combine strong operational knowledge with a positive, hands-on leadership style.

Working Environment

This is a hands-on position based within a busy warehouse and distribution environment. The role will involve regular manual handling in accordance with safe working practices, alongside the use of forklift trucks, lifting equipment and other warehouse machinery where appropriately trained and authorised.

Appropriate PPE must be worn as required, and some flexibility will be needed to support the operation during particularly busy or peak trading periods.

Benefits

In addition to joining a growing international business at an exciting stage of its development, my client offers an excellent benefits package including:

  • 26 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Option to purchase an additional 5 days’ annual leave per year
  • Private healthcare
  • Life assurance
  • Pension salary sacrifice scheme
  • Free on-site parking
