Job Title: Early Years Work Placement Assessor

Department: Health, Social Care & Early Years

Working Pattern: Full-time (37 hours per week)

Salary: £25,500-£30,500 per annum

Location: Further Education College / Educational Provider

Role Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Work Placement Assessor to coordinate, monitor, and assess work placements within our Early Years curriculum. In this role, you will bridge the gap between education and industry by building strong relationships with local employers, securing high-quality placement opportunities, and directly evaluating student competencies against national standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Employer Engagement: Build and sustain robust partnerships with Early Years employers to secure, manage, and expand quality placement opportunities.

• Assessment & Quality: Assess T-Level and 'License to Practice' students in their placement environments against external qualification criteria.

• Student Support: Match students to suitable placements, prepare them via tutorials and staff development, and monitor their progress through regular timetabled visits.

• Placement Administration: Maintain, update, and audit the central electronic placement system to track student achievements, monitor compliance, and generate funding reports.

• Student Safeguarding: Ensure all placements adhere to strict Health & Safety, Safeguarding, and quality assurance standards.

• Institutional Support: Assist with wider educational events such as open days, student enrolment, induction, and graduation activities.

Key Requirements

• Proven experience assessing competencies within Early Years or child-based qualification frameworks (including T-Levels or License to Practice qualifications).

• Strong knowledge of the Early Years curriculum and vocational placement requirements.

• Excellent interpersonal and networking skills to engage effectively with employers, tutors, and students.

• Strong organizational skills with experience using central database or tracking systems.

• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
