THE ROLE
As an Experienced Bodyshop Workshop Controller, you will oversee the daily operation of a busy accident repair workshop, ensuring vehicles progress efficiently through every stage of the repair process while maintaining productivity, quality, and outstanding customer satisfaction.
Working closely with all departments, you will coordinate workshop activity, maximise technician utilisation, and ensure repairs are completed safely, efficiently, and to manufacturer-approved standards.
Key Responsibilities:
·Manage the day-to-day workflow of the accident repair workshop, ensuring vehicles progress efficiently through each repair stage
·Allocate work effectively across Panel, MET, and Paint departments to maximise workshop productivity and efficiency
·Monitor repair progress, technician utilisation, and vehicle completion times to meet customer and business expectations
·Liaise with Vehicle Damage Assessors, Parts Advisors, Insurance Companies, and customers to provide repair updates and resolve any issues
·Carry out quality control checks to ensure repairs meet manufacturer standards, BS10125 requirements, and company procedures
·Support the workshop team by identifying production bottlenecks and implementing effective solutions
·Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety, COSHH, and workshop operating procedures
·Promote a positive team culture while maintaining high standards of customer service and repair quality
ABOUT YOU
We're looking for an experienced, organised, and motivated Workshop Controller who can confidently lead a busy accident repair workshop while maintaining excellent customer service and operational performance.
·Previous experience as a Workshop Controller, Bodyshop Controller, Production Controller, or Workshop Supervisor within an automotive accident repair centre
·Strong knowledge of accident repair processes across Panel, Paint, and MET departments
·Excellent planning, scheduling, and workshop coordination skills
·Ability to maximise workshop productivity while maintaining quality standards
·Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships with technicians, customers, insurers, and suppliers
·Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads in a fast-paced environment
·Leadership experience with a proactive and positive management style
·Computer literate with experience using bodyshop management systems
·Excellent attention to detail and commitment to customer satisfaction
·Full UK Driving Licence required
