Credit Collection in Newark on Trent, Nottinghamshire

Reflect Recruitment Group are working with a business in the area of Newark for a full time permanent Credit Collection professional to join their established and expanding team. 

In the role of Credit Collection you will be working as part of the team who recover overdue accounts and unpaid balances, whilst delivering empathetic customer support as part of the process to maintain professionalism.  Reporting to the Finance Manager and be working with a wide range of businesses that vary from sole traders to large businesses.

This is a full time office based role working Monday to Friday 8.30-5 (1hr lunch) Salary is £28-29k DOE.

Responsibilities

• Contact Customers: Contact businesses via phone, email, or letters to discuss overdue accounts.
• Negotiate Payment Plans: Assess financial situations and set up sustainable, realistic repayment plans or settlement offers.
• Handle Vulnerable Customers: Identify signs of financial hardship or distress and guide individuals to appropriate support, forbearance, or debt advice.
• Maintain Records: Update databases and financial logs accurately with every communication and payment promise. Communicate progress to others within the organisation.
• Investigate Discrepancies: Resolve Invoice disputes and queries to expedite payments.
• Escalate Cases: Prepare files for pre-legal or legal action, court claims, or external enforcement agencies if internal recovery fails.

We are looking for someone ideally with previous background in a similar role and must be methodical, organised, numerate and confident communicating with people and can meet deadlines.

Requirements:-

- Experience working in credit control, accounts receivable, or related financial role.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
