Your new company
You will be joining a multi-accredited and well-established contractor operating in the highways industry. This high-profile contractor has a strong reputation for delivering projects valued between £1m-£9m for National Highways and multiple local authorities and offers a strong pipeline of work as well as excellent opportunities for career progression and professional development. As part of their continued growth, they are actively seeking a Planner to join their team.

This is a full-time permanent position based out of their Brentwood office with hybrid and flexible working.


Your new role
As a Planner, you will be a key contributor to the successful delivery of civil engineering and infrastructure projects, with responsibilities including:

  • Producing, developing and maintaining construction programmes from first principles using works information and drawings
  • Managing and updating short-term and long-term programmes to reflect progress, change and risk
  • Leading on daily scheduling and planning activities to support efficient project delivery
  • Working closely with site teams to understand construction methodologies and sequencing
  • Supporting the commercial team by substantiating change, ensuring robust records and supporting evidence are maintained
  • Contributing to NEC contract processes, including early warnings, impacted programmes and Clause 62 assessments
  • Identifying potential delays and risks, proposing mitigation measures to protect programme outcomes
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment on programme, progress and key milestones
  • Utilising Primavera P6 to manage and report programme performance.


What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful, you must bring:

  • Experience as a Planner within the highways industry, ideally from a subcontractor/Tier 2 background
  • In-depth knowledge of civil works: drainage, kerbing, motorway technology, street lighting and traffic signals
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Full UK driving licence.
