Personnel Selection are recruiting two Production Supervisors on behalf of our client in Bognor Regis.
Due to rapid expansion and re-structure, we're looking to fill these positions quickly and are keen to hear from candidates with the right combination of manufacturing experience, people management skills, and a positive, hands-on approach to leadership. This position operates on a rotating Treble Shift Pattern:
- 06:00 - 14:00
- 14:00 - 22:00
- 22:00 - 06:00
Candidates must be flexible to work all shift rotations. Due to the location of the site and shift start/finish times, a full UK driving licence and access to your own transport is strongly preferred.
THE ROLE:
Reporting to the Production Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring production targets, quality standards, health and safety requirements, and service level expectations are achieved across your shift.You will lead by example, motivate production teams, and help drive continuous improvement throughout the manufacturing operation. This is a fast paced machining environment and you will supervising machinists and production operatives. This is a hands on role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise and support production staff during your shift.
- Ensure production schedules and service level agreements are met.
- Allocate labour and resources effectively to maximise efficiency.
- Monitor daily production performance and identify improvement opportunities.
- Complete production reporting and system checks.
- Record production output, work-in-progress and performance metrics accurately.
- Ensure effective communication during shift handover.
- Promote and maintain a strong health and safety culture.
- Carry out daily safety inspections and complete all associated documentation.
- Ensure correct PPE usage across the workforce.
- Report machine breakdowns and quality concerns through established procedures.
- Support planned preventative maintenance activities.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping standards throughout the facility.
- Administer attendance, sickness and absence reporting.
- Maintain staff rotas and workforce planning schedules.
- Support employee inductions, training and development programmes.
- Assist with employee performance management and team development.
- Undertake additional duties as required to support operational needs.
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS TO BE CONSIDERED:
- Previous supervisory or team leader experience within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Happy to undertake job specific and machine specific training.
- Factory or industrial production experience.
- Strong understanding of health and safety procedures.
- Good IT and administration skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organisational and planning abilities.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet operational targets.
- Reliable, proactive and adaptable approach to work.
- Own transport due to shift pattern requirements - public services do not operate during certain times at the location.
WHATS ON OFFER?
- Starting salary of £14.15 per hour (£28,203 per annum)
- Increase to £14.90 per hour (£29,698 per annum) following successful completion of training
- Full-time permanent opportunity
