We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in the Southport area. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about supporting young children in their educational journey and helping them achieve their full potential.
Working primarily within an EYFS classroom, supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), you will play a key role in supporting pupils' learning and development, working alongside the class teacher to create an engaging and positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities- Supporting teaching and learning within an EYFS classroom.
- Delivering targeted interventions to small groups of pupils.
- Supporting the development of early communication, literacy and numeracy skills.
- Providing additional support to children with SEN who require extra help with their learning.
- Encouraging children's confidence, independence and engagement in lessons.
- Assisting with classroom preparation and general classroom duties.
- Promoting positive behaviour and supporting pupils' social and emotional development.
- A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification or Childcare qualification (or equivalent).
- Previous experience supporting young children within a school, nursery, childcare or similar setting is highly desirable.
- Experience supporting children with SEN would be advantageous.
- A good understanding of EYFS development and learning would be beneficial.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A patient, caring and flexible approach to supporting pupils.
- Location: Southport
- Hours: 8:45am - 3:15pm, Monday to Friday
- Start Date: 19th October
- Duration: Long term, fixed-term position until the end of the academic year, with the possibility of extension for the right candidate.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
