Shift Patterns
Operator 1: Thursday – Sunday, 7:00pm – 7:00am
or
Operator 2: Thursday – Sunday, 7:00am – 7:00pm
Candidates must be comfortable working 12-hour day or night shifts.
Pay & Benefits
- £19.98 per hour minimum
- Additional weekend supplements available
- After 3 months, time-and-a-half and double-time rates will apply where applicable
- Long-term assignment through to 31 March 2027
- Full training and support provided
- Proactively monitor the CCTV network to identify and disrupt ASB, theft and criminal activity.
- Monitor live incidents and respond quickly and appropriately to emerging situations.
- Liaise with the Police and emergency services, providing CCTV information and support where required.
- Ensure incidents are accurately recorded to appropriate evidential standards.
- Prepare incident reports and written statements and attend court as a witness when required.
- Monitor CCTV systems, dashboards and alerts and report technical faults promptly.
- Carry out daily functionality checks of cameras and associated equipment.
- Manage CCTV footage requests and maintain accurate records and case information.
- Operate radio communication systems and coordinate effectively with colleagues.
- Respond calmly and professionally to emergency and crisis situations.
- Support major or high-profile events where required.
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure all CCTV procedures, policies and regulations are followed.
- Carry out general administrative duties required for the effective operation of the control room.
We are looking for candidates who are alert, switched-on and confident working in a busy CCTV control room environment.
You will ideally have:
- Previous CCTV Control Room / VSS Operator experience – essential.
- A valid SIA licence – essential.
- Experience monitoring live CCTV systems and responding to incidents.
- Strong observation and attention-to-detail skills.
- Ability to remain calm and make effective decisions under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise with Police and other agencies.
- Good written skills with the ability to produce accurate incident reports.
- Strong IT skills and experience using CCTV software and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities.
- Good knowledge of CCTV procedures, regulations and data protection requirements.
- Excellent punctuality, reliability and professional conduct.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a control room team.
- Flexibility to cover overtime or shifts where required.
- Ability to work 12-hour day or night shifts.
Previous CCTV Control Room Experience – ESSENTIAL
DBS check required
Your SIA licence must remain valid for the full duration of the assignment.
Education & Training
- Level 2 or equivalent in English.
- Level 2 or equivalent in Maths.
- First Aid and Fire Safety training will be provided where required.
