Structural Steel Project Manager

Location: London
Salary: £45,000 – £65,000 per annum, depending on experience

An established structural steelwork contractor is looking to recruit a Project Manager to join its growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in structural steelwork, fabrication or steel installation to take responsibility for managing projects from initial handover through to successful completion.

The Role

You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of structural steelwork projects, coordinating design, procurement, fabrication and installation activities to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing structural steelwork projects from inception through to completion.

• Coordinating design, detailing, fabrication and installation teams.

• Managing project programmes, budgets and resources.

• Liaising with clients, main contractors, architects and engineers.

• Monitoring project progress and resolving operational issues.

• Managing procurement, materials and subcontractors.

• Attending site meetings and conducting project reviews.

• Ensuring health and safety and quality standards are maintained.

• Managing variations, project costs and commercial performance.

The Candidate

The successful candidate will have previous experience in project management within structural steelwork, steel fabrication or a related construction environment.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience as a Project Manager or Project Engineer.

• Knowledge of structural steel fabrication and installation.

• An understanding of engineering drawings and construction processes.

• Experience coordinating site teams, subcontractors and suppliers.

• Strong organisational and communication skills.

• The ability to manage programmes, budgets and competing priorities.

• A proactive approach to problem-solving.

Salary & Benefits
