Tutor – Alternative Provision at Pathway Group, Corby

Pathway Academy Zone is looking for an engaging, resilient and experienced 0 hour Tutor to support young people within our Alternative Provision in Corby.

Our learners may have experienced barriers within mainstream education and require a more personalised, practical and supportive approach to learning.

We are looking for someone who can build strong relationships with young people while maintaining clear expectations, structure and professional boundaries.

The Role

You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging learning sessions to individuals and small groups of learners.

Key responsibilities include:

• Planning and delivering high-quality lessons

• Delivering learning to individuals and small groups

• Adapting teaching approaches to meet individual learner needs

• Supporting learners with SEND, SEMH and behavioural needs

• Re-engaging young people who may have become disengaged from mainstream education

• Setting clear expectations around behaviour, attendance and participation

• Assessing learner progress and providing constructive feedback

• Maintaining accurate learner records and progress documentation

• Working closely with Teaching Assistants, pastoral staff and management

• Contributing to individual learner plans and intervention strategies

• Promoting safeguarding, wellbeing and a positive learning environment

About You

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience within:

• Alternative Provision

• Secondary education

• SEND or SEMH

• Pupil Referral Units

• Further Education

• Vocational education

• Behaviour support

You should be confident working with young people who may present challenging behaviour or have experienced significant barriers to education.

Qualifications

Ideally, you will hold:

• A recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, QTS, QTLS, Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training or equivalent

We may also consider candidates with strong vocational or industry experience alongside an appropriate teaching or training qualification.
