PLEASE NOTE: To be considered for this role, you must be willing to relocate to Manchester if you are not local.

Location: Manchester (please apply if you are local or willing to relocate)
Salary: £13 per hour to start (up to £38k+ per year with overtime)
Overtime: Paid at 1.5x the standard rate – regular overtime available (50–65 hours per week currently)

About the Role
As a Wood Machinist, you will become a key part of a busy production team manufacturing high-quality contract furniture for commercial clients. This role offers the opportunity to work within a respected British manufacturer known for its craftsmanship and high production standards.
Training can be provided for the right candidate who already has experience operating wood machinery.

Key Responsibilities:
Operate various woodworking machines including:
  • Bandsaw
  • Straight line edger
  • Planer sander
  • Edge sander
  • Beam saw
Additional responsibilities include:
  • Preparing timber components for furniture production
  • Ensuring materials are cut and finished to required specifications
  • Maintaining high standards of quality and safety
  • Identifying and reporting any defects or machine issues
  • Working collaboratively with the production team to meet deadlines
Working Hours and Breaks

Monday – Thursday: 7:00am – 4:15pm
Friday: 7:00am – 12:00pm
Breaks:
  • 9:30am – 9:45am
  • 12:00pm – 12:30pm
  • 2:30pm – 2:40pm
Paid hours: 8.75 hours Monday–Thursday and 5 hours on Friday
